its a 2012 yfz450, is it possible to convert its plastics to yfz 450r plastics of any year? And which years look most appealing and the best?

@LeGrandeur, yeah it's possible to swap YFZ450 plastics for YFZ450R ones but you'll likely need to tweak the mounts a bit since the frames differ slightly, as for looks, the 2009 and newer models are pretty sharp and aggressive, they've got that racer vibe.

This is possible but a few mods here and there definitely. sometimes frames can be slightly different from one model to another

Yes, it's possible but not a direct fit, cos you'll need to modify mounts or brackets. Many prefer the 2009 to 2013 YFZ450R plastics for the aggressive look, though 2014+ models look sharp too.

Definitely quite a few tweaks here and there. like what they mentioned above, probably different mounts or brackets. hope you find the one that you like! show us the before and after :)

yup, you can, but not any year. Avoid converting plastic to a new gen, the frame isn't lining. do you use the carb model?

Absolutely, you can switch out the plastics on your 2012 YFZ450 for the ones from the YFZ450R, though you might have to make a few adjustments up front to get everything to fit properly. Personally, I'm a fan of the style on the 2014 and newer R models, they've got a really clean and aggressive vibe. If you're looking to give your ride a new appearance, it's definitely a worthwhile upgrade
